The Valentine......Wonder

Yesterday was valentines day and believe me I had a blast, and no there were no Red Roses or red anythings but here is how my day went

Woke up at 6 am my hubby needed to go to work via train that early and had to see him off
Woke up at 10 am-No power
Sleepily started organising my house in the silence and just realised how noisy the fridge, TV, Microwave, radio, my phone all are.... I started thinking!
So I thought and thought till about 10 am and thought why not make chapati for supper!
Then the power came back and left, came, went, came disappered, came....aaaargh! too much flickering and I need to protect my power gadgets! so I switched everything off and went back to my silence.

10.30am my sister calls me, she has some gifts for me from my sis down south...I must rush she is going for a class via the super highway, I stop ...everything and dash into a mat and off to wait for her. at about 11.30 she appears I have been waiting for 15 minutes.... she gives me the bag, a few minutes spent chatting then I send her to a Matatu.

As soon as she boards, a few men standing by ask me to give them my friends number....I correct them, she is my sister, they ask me for her number again, I ask them to ask her for it! she is over 21 years! I rush home as i laugh..
Then the wonders begin: As I am walking home I pass by a matatu conductor hahhah he asks me to get into his mat, I tell him I would rather walk...I love walking by the way after the rain has pounded the dusty Kasarani plain, as we go.
We move in the same direction, he is going to buy some cane and so I pass by but again I think Ineed some sugar since i took no breakfast! I turn back and there he is buying the cane...I propose to buy for him...wonders of wonders, he choses to buy for me! Me! me!
me? a Matatu man buying Cane for me...that was my best valentine gift.... I have to pause there to absorb the shock and write more about my valentine day yesterday.

Wow! me -sugarcane? Matatu Conductor-Who is he?

  1. Carol, it shows that not all of them are as bad as we may think.
